Thank You, Greg

When Sara found out she was pregnant she had told Gil she did not want to go back to work, she wanted to stay home and take care of her baby?s.
?Mrs. Robbins dose a great job with Amy,? Sara said, ?But I fell like I have missed so much by working.?
  Gil just looked at her.
?I can still help out once in a while,? she said trying to justify her actions, ?And I have been offered a part time job teaching math at the high school so money should not be a problem.?
He had not said anything and she was getting nervous.
?Or not,? she said.  He kissed her cheek, ?Money would not have been a problem one way or the other,? he said.  ?And I would rather my wife be at home with our children then running all over Vegas with a gun in her hand and maybe getting shot.?
Sara and Gil?s second child was another little girl, Abigail Emma.
Sara almost cried when she found out, she wanted to give her husband a son, she never told him.
Amy was turning 3 and Abby - Butterfly to daddy - just had her first birthday.
Gil was getting worried about Sara.  She seemed to be happy around the house but she was just not ?Sara.?
The only time she really seemed totally happy was when she was with her girls.  He watched her as she read a bedtime story to the girls.
Amy and Abby sat on her lap as Sara read.
Gil smiled, the girls were so different.  Amy had her mothers dark hair and enchanting brown eyes.
Abby had golden ringlets and her daddies ocean blue eyes.
The girls fell asleep and Gil helped her carry them to bed.  In their bed he held her close.
?Darling, talk to me,? he said.  Sara looked at him, ?We talk all the time.?
?Not about what has you so upset,? he said.  ?Forget it,? she said rolling from his arms to the far side of the bed.
Gil was not about to let it go, ?No,? he said pulling her to him, ?tell me.?
She started to say something when she heard Abby cay, she left their bed and went to her daughter.
Gil put his hands behind his head and looked at the ceiling, something had her upset.  He had to get to the bottom of it.
Sara stayed with Abby longer them necessary, she did not want to talk to Gil.  When she finally came back to the bed Gil had fallen asleep.
She lay on the far side of the bed and slept.
Amy jumping on him the next morning woke him.  ?Waffles,? she demanded.
Gil hugged her.  ?Ok Ladybug.  We will make waffles while mommy sleeps.?
Gil and Amy made waffles, when they were done he chased her upstairs to wake her mom and sister.
Sara came in the kitchen, he pulled her into his arms.  ?I love you.  Whatever it is we will work it out.?  Sara tried to smile, ?It is nothing.?
After he left for work Sara was sitting on the porch as Amy and Abby chassed Hank around the yard.
?Uncle Greg!? Amy yelled.  He scooped her and them Abby up in his arms and kissed each girl on her cheek.
?Here are the papers you wanted,? he said hugging Sara.  She thanked him.  He took the coffee she offered, ?Sar, what?s bugging you?? he asked.
?You been talking to Gil?? she asked.  ?No.  Have not seen him.  It is just that - well for the last few months you have not been yourself.  You are down, almost depressed.?
Sara looked off them back at Greg.  ?Talk to me,? Greg said, ?You told me I was like a brother, so talk to your little brother.?
?I hate myself sometimes,? she said.  ?I feel like I have let Gil down.?  ?Why?? Greg asked.
?It is stupid,? she said.  ?I wanted to give him a son.?
?So,? Greg said not sure why that would be a problem.
?Gil said two was enough,? she said.  ?OH,? Greg said.
Back at the office Greg dug deep down and mustered up all his courage.  No one made him as nervous as Gil did.  He knocked on Gil?s door.
?I need to talk to you,? he told Gil.  Gil looked at him.  Greg walked in and shut the door.
?I just came from the house,? Greg said.  Then over the course of the next half hour Greg proceeded to tell Gil want a jacka** he was.  Gil ended his lecture by saying, ?All she wants to do is give you a son.  Only God knows why she would want another Gilbert Grissom but that is what she wants and that is what will make her happy.?
Greg blew out a breath and waited for the chewing out he knew he was going to get.
Gil looked at him, smiled and said ?Thank you Greg.?  He stood, ?Ask Catherine to finish shift.?
He called Mrs. Robbins and asked her if she could keep the girls overnight, she already had them because Sara was teaching.
He called her and told her to come home after school, he would get the girls.  When Sara got home she was surprised to not find the girls.
?Mrs. Robbins has them,? Gil said escorting her to the kitchen where he had dinner waiting for her.
?What is this all about?? she asked.  ?We are celebrating,? he said.
?What?? she asked giggling.  ?This,? he said as he tossed her birth control pills in the trash.  ?I just hope we don?t end up with a dozen girls before we get that little man.?
He pulled her into his arms and kissed her.  They made love.
She found her comfy place, nestled in her husbands arms.  Gil fell asleep, Sara lay awake for a little while.
?Thank you, Greg,? she said to herself just before she fell asleep.

Good for Greg, I am sure it was hard to talk to Grissom, but he thinks so much of Sara, he knew he had to.

Lovely story.

Wish I could have been a fly on the wall during Greg's talk with Gil.
