Character Screen Time Thread

That is a surprise.  I expected Finn to have the most time.  Glad to see Nick get his share - for a change.  And very happy that Sara had more time than Finn.  I think a Greg centric episode is coming soon so that could be reason for his limited time and since this was only the second of the season it does give time for him to build up some minutes.

I knew Nick pretty much dominated the show.  But, I was tickled pink that Sara was right up there!  She played a pretty significant role in the interviews. Finn stayed back in the lab where she belonged.

Once again Nick's right up there.  Excellent.  No surprise that Morgan has the most time - it was her episode.  And like several of you she is beginning to move into a more favorable light with me.  Didn't like her in every scene but much better than a lot of what we've seen before.

At least 10 minutes of Morgan's time was  over done--a replay of "let's make her like Sara used to be"--that's my opinion. I still do not see talent in this actress---a cute little baby face and an immature character. To get a job at one of the top labs in the country---she's a joke!! I think the writers are doing more harm to her as an actor than help at this point.

Isn't one of the few guidelines on this board not to bash characters and particularly not to bash the actors portraying them? I bet you wouldn't describe Sara in her early years as "immature" or "a joke" yet you seem to have no problem comparing the two and labelling it to Elizabeth Harnois.

I was actually one to take to Morgan quite quickly, and that's because she came across as a nice character with a few tidbits of feistyness. But sadly in the TV world it seems that a lot of nice characters just get labelled as dull. I'll admit that Harnois started off a little shaky in the role (but she's a young actress being put into a twelve year old cast) but she's definitely improved over Seasons 12 and 13 and I personally think she's fit in a lot better than other characters have in the past.

Good to see DB and Finn not being on top and the writers letting other characters take more of a presence. Greg's three minutes is still shambolic for someone who's been on the show from the start, though I'd hope that was due to his episode this week more than anything.

Crumbs--I am not bashing the person, Elizabeth, but the way she is being portrayed on CSI with her character, Morgan. To bash her I'd say she has not an inch of talent and is ugly! Re-read what I actually said about her. Actually, by writing her character as they do, the writers are not very original. But then Finn is being portrayed as a Catherine on steroids!! In a bad way.

Actually, many of us have described Sara in her early years as immature and even acting like a spoiled brat at times (I know I have!). Thank God she's matured a little bit

I don't see any actor bashing here at all. Just expressing unhappiness with the character. Not everyone likes Morgan and that is fine

I, personally, actually do like her. I didn't at first for many of the same reasons that 'pals listed, but I find that with every episode I do like her even more and I did like her in this episode. However, I respect everyone's independent opinion. If 'pals doesn't like Morgan, she doesn't like Morgan. It doesn't change my opinion at all

And, this thread is for character screen time. Let's keep it as that please

Morgan needs better writing.  I think the character has potential, but the writers are making her very one dimensional.  The one time I saw Morgan and thought "o.k. guys, you are on to something" was when she poked her head over the vat of chocolate, sniffed and smiled from ear to ear.  That showed that she was more than a cookie cutter character.  She had a unique characteristic in her personality that made her different.  I don't think any of the CSIs have NOT had a unique characteristic about them that makes them different---Grissom and his roller coasters, Shakespeare, etc. Nick and ?, Warrick and his charity work and gambling addiction, Catherine and ?, Sara and her love for Grissom and she is a vegan--hates the site of meat dead or alive.  So, Morgan loves chocolate--show her walking around with a bag of M&Ms after a bad case--let her keep a quart of milk in the fridge that she whips out while talking with Greg and offers him an Oreo.

It is just that her character is soaked with angst and it gets old.  She needs a chocolate attack.

Oh, I think Nick's most prominent trait is that he's a good, ole country boy - polite, considerate and empathetic.

It sounds terrible to say it but I thought Catherine's prominent trait was being a bit man-crazy.
